Our story
Everything started when I got sober and a couple years later we got our first dog, a Rottweiler we named Asuka! She made me fall instantly in love with Rottweilers and dogs/dog training in general. That lead me to exploring the internet for videos of anything Rottweiler, training, or dogs in general. I studied and practiced many trainers and methods for a couple months and quickly realized I had a passion and talent for this stuff. I started to want to add another pup (a male) to our pack when I stumbled upon the PERFECT puppy on Instagram. He was from a breeder in California and the breeder only agreed to sell me the puppy if I agreed to show him in AKC as he was the pick Male from the litter and he was very promising looking! I agreed and got the puppy!
Welcome Roman! He really got me even more into training and the dog world because by 6 months old I had him in the AKC show ring! Shortly after I found a group of local trainers and started training Roman with them for protection work. One of the trainers was opening his own place and asked me to work for him as he could see I had some skill. I started working for him and learned a ton and got a lot of great experience with many different dogs. I met another trainer and worked for her as well. I also learned a ton and gained a bunch more experience there. I handled all jobs at both places very well.
During that time I met many trainers involved in the protection sport and the dog world in general and again learned a ton and gained a ton of experience from it all. That is when I was ready to start my own dog business. I started with just a couple dogs doing day camp/training. During this time my Wife got Sober as well and decided to join me in the dog business! Since then we have grown the business to the point we are both full time and have been for two years now! We scaled the business and tried hiring some people but they did not work out and we realized our standard is much higher than anyone else’s when it comes to this. Because of that and our original goal of always remaining small, personal, and reliable as possible, we decided to not go through with hiring anyone else and keeping it to just Christine and I! We will continue to improve our services and bring more and more value, success, and satisfaction to our clients! In the near future we will secure a small facility on some land and we will expand our services a little more and will have some more fun and exciting events to come with that!
My name is nico and this is my story
I grew up in the city. I wasn’t around many dogs and didn’t own any growing up. I didn’t know much about dogs at all. I started dating my wife in 2014. In 2015 I got sober and in 2018 Christine and I decided to get our first dog together. We had barely started to even look around and Christine stumbled upon a female Rottweiler Puppy at the puppy store. I went to check her out the next day and we took her home that same day! The rest was history, I was instantly hooked! As soon as we took Asuka home I started to research training videos on YouTube. I also fell in love with Cesar Milan’s Dog Whisperer show. Every day I would study the show and videos on YouTube and then practice them with Asuka. During my research I found all sorts of fun and amazing things dogs can do that I never knew about! There was obedience trials, protection training, agility, conformation shows, etc. I was interested in all of it! Anything dogs especially Rottweilers, it was for me!
I quickly realized I had a passion and a natural talent for this dog stuff and others took notice of this as well. Anywhere I took my dog people saw I had a way with her. Finding out about dog shows and dog sports lead me to my next dog which was Roman! I stumbled across his picture on Instagram, and fell in Love I knew that was the dog I wanted to add to my pack and I couldn’t have picked a better pup! He was from a breeder in California and the breeder only wanted to sell me him if I promised to show him in AKC. By the time Roman was 6 months old I had him in the show ring even though I had no idea what we were doing it was so fun and an amazing experience I will never forget. We showed a few times in AKC and Roman always did very well capturing the eyes and hearts of everyone who saw him/met him.
During this time I had found a local group of trainers who happen to be some of the best in the country and are into dog sports mostly protection sport. I ended up working for a couple of them and learning/gaining a ton of experience from all of that. I also joined the protection sport and was among a very small group of people who were able to accomplish what I did with a Rottweiler in that sport. (Less than 10 ever at the time) I met many good people, learned a ton, and got tons of experience in many different areas during that time including, Handling/Showing in both AKC and Sieger Shows, Handling/Showing in the protection/obedience sport (PSA), decoying for protection work, dog walking, basic/advanced obedience, on and off leash (e collar) training, working/cleaning kennels, supervising day cares, running group classes, pack walks, and even behavior mod/agression, which lead to me start doing day camp and training on my own.
Shortly after my wife got Sober as well, then we got married! After we got married Christine started working with me and the dogs full time! We got our third dog another Rottie named Hema! We love her so much she is the sweetest! Since then we have built the business from nothing to what it is today!
